What is not immediately apparent, is that one batch of ice cream is about 1/8 cup. That's fine, and probably a good treat for a small child, but disappointing if you think it's going to make more. The recipe booklet that comes with the mugz makes four batches. Small children will definitely need help, as 3 solid minutes of shaking is tiring on the arms. We found that five of the semi-circular ice cubes made by our freezer worked just fine and did not have to be crushed. Packaging was good, and adults had fun too.

I have 4 children and 2 of mine talked me into buying these at a museum. They do exactly what they say they do! Yeah it is a small amount but they just love the concept that they put flavored milk in a little cup, throw ice and salt in the bottom of the cup and they shake their cups and out comes ice cream! And these are 2 boys, ages 8 and 5 and although they want to do it over and over again, for a museum prize at $10.00 I was thrilled with the end result that I thought wasn't going to work!!! It really is great just for the novelty of it! Love it, recommend it, buying them for my friends for small gifts at Christmas!!!

I ordered these Ice Cream Mugz for my niece and nephew about a week ago. When we received them, they tore into the shipping box to find 4 colorful and neatly packed ice cream makers. My nephew likes the dog and my niece likes the penguin. We invited their friends over and had a fun time making ice cream. I do have to say that these mugz make a fairly small amount of ice cream but I like the idea of them getting a small treat and a workout while making it. I will definitely order more in the next few days as holiday gifts!
